I should comment on the beautiful party pictures (fantastic dress! where IS that restaurant? happy 30th) but I have to tell the NY mouse story, not as gross as 2 wriggling in a trap on your floor but freakier. One morning, many apartments ago, I walked into my bathroom which had one window above the sink, which faced an atrium-ish area formed by the backs of the buildings on my block. As I washed my face, I noticed a noise and a shadow outside the frosted glass of the window. I slid the glass up a little and there was a MOUSE, stuck to a TRAP which was also stuck on my WINDOW. The squeaking and the screaming! Someone must have found it in their apartment and tossed it out the window. My boyfriend had to come and poke the trap with a stick til it came loose. Oh god.

i am in love with your dress, and am SO glad you had the best birthday dinner and got to hang out with your pretty pretty manfriend. but darling, the mouse story makes me want to cry. i feel so bad for you, i would be afraid to go to sleep at night. whatever do you do to get yourself to sleep??? i must say, now i am a bit glad i didn't think of visiting you this past weekend until too late. because the mice? as i said, make me want to cry. love, love, LOVE you though.

My dad found a nest of baby mice in our garage once. He said he felt like a murderer but he killed them and he HAD to - mice mature in like six weeks and can start reproducing a few months after they're born. Which just means more mice. Ugh. And you look very pretty in your dress. Glad you had fun!

What a party! To die for! And your dress--- tooo toooooo chic. Thank god for the mice (plural!) or I would be far too jealous of your beautiful life. And, as for the mice, can you borrow someone's cat for a week? Trust me, there will be no more mice after that feline guest has visited . . .

Your party looked beautiful and stupendous...as did you... But I'm still in shock over the MICE (plural!) situation. I would have moved out of STATE the minute that first one jumped out. We, too, are the proud owners of no-longer-good-for-food BBQ tongs (or were, anyway)...but sadly ours were used to retrieve a RAT. It looks like you turned 30 with grand style...and I'd expect nothing less from the woman who writes here...
